Free TV Licence at 75: who still gets one
A TV Licence costs £180 a year. If you are 75 or over and you or your partner get Pension Credit, it is free. If you are registered blind, or live with someone who is, you get 50% off.
Who can get it
Free licence: you are 75 or older and you or a partner you live with get Pension Credit. Half price: you are registered blind or live with someone who is, and the licence is in the blind person's name. A £7.50 licence is available in some care homes and sheltered housing.
How to get it
Apply on the TV Licensing website. You can apply for the free licence when you are 74 if you already get Pension Credit.
