What we keep, why, for how long, and how to get it deleted.
Last updated 12 September 2026.
Who we are
Yorbit is run by ClearDeskPro Software Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17193344. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.
Contact: hello@yorbit.co.uk.
What we keep, and what we do not
The checks. When you answer the questions in a flight, train, broadband or energy check, we do not keep your answers. They are used to work out the result and then discarded.
Letters. If you ask for a letter, your answers and any details you add, such as your name or booking reference, are sent to our AI provider to write the draft. We do not keep the letter.
The app without an account. Your answers, reminders and claims stay on your own device. We never see them.
Your account. If you sign in, we keep:
- your email address, and when you signed in;
- the answers you give in the app: the companies you pay and when contracts end, the train companies you use, flights you add, the renewals you ask us to remind you about and their dates, and the help questions you tick;
- the claims you save, their deadlines and whether you have claimed;
- a record of which reminders we have emailed you, so we never send the same one twice;
- only if you tick the box to let us, a short label naming the advert that brought you, for example google/cpc/trains. It names the advert, not anything you did on other websites. We use no advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Number plate lookups. If you ask us to find your MOT date from your number plate, we send the number plate to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to get the date. We keep the date, not the number plate.
Email updates. If you ask for updates about new features, we keep your email address.
Your IP address. We use it for a short time to stop too many requests from one connection. We do not store it with your account.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- Your account, reminders and claims: to provide the service you signed up for. Basis: our contract with you. You can switch reminder emails off at any time.
- Letters and number plate lookups: to do what you asked. Basis: our contract with you.
- Which advert brought you: to see which of our adverts work, so we stop paying for the ones that do not. Basis: your consent, given by ticking the box when you enter your email. The box is never ticked for you. It is one label, we never share it, and it is deleted with your account. To withdraw consent, email us and we will remove the label.
- Email updates: to tell you about new features. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it. Deleting your account in the app, under You, removes your answers, claims and reminder record straight away.
- Sign-in links: they stop working after 15 minutes. Signed-in sessions last 90 days.
- An email that is never confirmed: if you give your email but never use the sign-in link, we delete it and anything saved with it after 7 days.
- Email updates: until you ask to be removed.
Who processes it for us
- Railway: Hosts our servers and the account database. Data is processed in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which is our server region, and in the United States, where Railway has its main operations. Transfers from the UK use the UK Standard Contractual Clauses or the Data Privacy Framework, under Railway's data processing agreement.
- Netlify: Hosts the website. Data is processed in the United States and other countries outside the UK. Transfers use the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, where that does not apply, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, under Netlify's data processing agreement.
- Resend: Sends our emails, including sign-in links and reminders. Data is processed in the United States. Transfers from the UK use the UK Addendum, with the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework as an extra safeguard.
- Anthropic: Writes letter drafts from your answers. It does not train its models on this data, and deletes it within 30 days. Data is processed in the United States, where it is stored, and requests may be handled in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia. Transfers use Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, under Anthropic's data processing addendum.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with the companies you have bills or claims with.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also download your data or delete your account yourself in the app, under You. Otherwise, email hello@yorbit.co.uk from the address you use with us. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, a claims management company or a financial adviser. We explain the rules and help you keep on top of your own bills, renewals and claims.
