The Priority Services Register: free extra help
Your energy supplier and your network operator each keep a Priority Services Register of people who need extra help. You can join if you are over state pension age, pregnant, have young children, are disabled or ill, or your situation has recently changed. It gives you priority help in an emergency and, where possible, warning before planned power cuts.
Who can get it
People who have reached state pension age, are pregnant or have young children, struggle with speaking or reading English, live with a disability or long-term medical condition, or whose circumstances have recently changed, for example after a hospital stay, a bereavement or losing a job.
How to get it
Contact your energy supplier and your network operator, online, in writing or by phone. If you have different gas and electricity suppliers, contact each one, and ask to join again if you switch.
