Railcards: what each one costs and saves
A Railcard costs £35 a year (£20 for the Disabled Persons Railcard) and gets you 1/3 off most train tickets across Great Britain. The 16-17 Saver gives 50% off. Most cards have a minimum fare or a morning time limit, so check the rules for your card.
Who can get it
It depends on the card: your age (16-17, 16-25, 26-30, or 60 and over), a disability, having served in the Armed Forces, travelling as a pair, travelling with children, or travelling in London and the South East.
How to get it
Buy online at railcard.co.uk. You need a photo and, for most cards, proof of age or eligibility. Most cards can also be bought at a staffed station ticket office. The 26-30 Railcard is only sold online.
